Ballet and Winter Wonderland

Sofia had a ballet recital after her first ballet season a few weeks ago. She looked adorable in her leotard and seemed to enjoy her classes.

She started her new session in a smaller class so hopefully she'll enjoy it a little more.

 

Winter Wonderland

The end of winter is coming too soon! We went sledding on a beautiful Sunday morning with the Bongorno Family and Val and her friend. They experienced their first snow angels and sledding down a steep hill. The girls had fun while we pulled them on their sleds.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was the sweetest Valentine's I've had in the last few years :)  The girls were invited to two Valentine parties this past weekend, one was a "Princess and Knights" theme and the other was a BYO tea cup party.  The girls made princess crowns, ate lots of cake and candy and played in their friends' castle.  The next day we attended tea time at the Wimbiscus' home.  More cake and candy, making valentine cards and stuffing the mailboxes they made.  It was a fun time and the kids looked really cute.

Sofia also did some pre-celebrating on Friday at school.  We made cupcakes the night before and Sofia addressed Valentine cards.  I went to her school and read the class a book.

Next up...weekend at Great Wolf and the girls' first cross-country skiing experience!

Almost caught up with January!

This was a special birthday year for Joe since his birthday was 1/11/11. I thought it called for some type of special recognition so I organized an impromtou "surprise" birthday party that included bowling and Karaoke (which Joe just LOVES).

To get him in the mood Joe started off with a shot of tequila. He also shaved off most of his beard and left a handlebar mustache. Sexy.



We had a great time with friends who all came through with babysitters so we were set to have a "wild and crazy night". For some reason this was a common expression on Joe's face that night. He seemed to think that facial hair called for a psycho look.

After bowling we headed to Tina's, a dive bar that looks like a strip joint from the outside. It was empty when we arrived, much to the DJs chagrin. We promptly took over the karaoke machine before a bus full of hipsters showed up around 10PM.

Molly, Ashley and Joel sang a folksy power ballad.

Thanks everyone for joining us and staying out til 3AM! We outlasted those twenty-nothings!

Rosy's Bday
The weekend before I spent an evening celebrating my BFF's 40th birthday at her favorite club. It gave me an excuse to wear the lovely dress she bought me for Xmas. I had a fabulous time, even though I had to get home early because Fiona was sick that weekend. Nonetheless I spent a great time with friends, dancing and catching up.

Anna is a friend from high school and she hasn't changed a bit. Except now she has three kids; but still looks awesome!

Here we are again in 1988! We were way cool!
