Maple Sugar Season!

In honor of the fact that the girls have waffles almost every day we decided to go to the first weekend of maple sugaring in the Rocky River metroparks.  We took a short trip back in time to how the Native Americans first began tapping trees and how the process evolved after the pilgrims hijacked the idea to  current modern tapping techniques. 

It wasn't that cold!

Apparently children used to have to collect the sap and bring it back to boil. 

Guess they would have needed shorter bucket cords.

Great Wolf Lodge

We got a short reprieve from winter by going to a waterpark, along with eighteen of our closest friends (and 20 of their kids). After a full day of water slides, hot tubs and more water, we all had dinner and the kids played surprisingly well together.

So excited to splash around!

I've successfully managed to instill a love for Frida Kahlo into my two malleable children and they proved it. Not my idea, mind you.
