So, let's get on with pictures!
This is one of my favorite pics of Fiona during our solo 9/24/10 weekend (while Joe and Sofia were in Texas) at Ingenuity Fest. The Detroit-Superior Bridge is in the background and where the Festival took place.
The Fest included cool lighting, artwork and bands! We enjoyed a little rockabilly, until Fiona tipped over my beer that is.
As faithful readers may recall, Sofia had her first pedicure, courtesy of Granny, while in Amarillo. Here is proof of that paint job.
And below Sofia poses, very pretty, in her pink boots. I wish I had them!
Our neighborhood recently developed a six-acre farm in the heart of the city, across the river from downtown. Sofia and I visited during their "Open House". The land was tilled by Amish farmers and several small farmers have plots and sell their produce at the nearby West Side Market or Great Lakes Brewery. It's an awesome project and illustrates the city's local foods movement.
Our neighborhood's community development group filmed a short promo video and the girls wore their "Ohio City" tshirts for it.
Parties!
We were invited to several October birthday parties and started with Ron's 40th Bday Bash held at the Speakeasy, a local bar. I'm sure the bartenders were overwhelmed by the dozens of preschoolers running around and drinking (juice!) at the bar.

A week or so later we helped celebrate Baxter's 5th birthday at Fairview Park.
And then Nora B's third birthday back at Patterson's.
Speaking of Patterson's, we returned the following weekend for more apple picking and fun with the W Family.

Notice the ghost on the front door window...a new tradition was born from the efforts of a mystery woman (Ashley...?) who left a bag of goodies, anonymously, on a friend's back porch. The note inside asked that they do the same to two other families and to put up the ghost as a sign they had been "boo'd". Sofia loved the idea and she insisted on "boo'ing" four other families. She loved "ding dong ditching".
The adults were asked to dress up in 1990s fashion.

There were many other creative costumes that I didn't have photos of, such as Todd's housing bubble (clear umbrella with lego homes glued on), but thanks to everyone for playing along!
Halloween Day!
Halloween started with Spanish class and kids modeling their costumes.
That afternoon we watched the Pet Parade at Crocker Park.
And that evening Joe and I took turns taking the girls trick-or-treating. I biked over to meet some of the other moms.
And then Joe met up with his wagon o'beer to take the girls and meet up with other dads and their kids. Afterwards they all came over to pick me up at a friend's house and it turned into an impromptou party. Quite a productive day!
Sofia and Fiona created a "welcome" sign for their new cousin Eli, born in Texas in early November.
Wooo, well that was a busy month and that was on top of ballet, tumbling, a performance at Playhouse Square, concert at Severance Hall, etc. November has already been just as busy with celebrating Val's birthday, a weekend in Maumee and hosting Rosy. I hope not to take as long to post those photos!
